



For all of human history, and no doubt before - our parent's issues getting imprinted onto their kids, who in turn imprint their issues onto the next generation. A cycle as old as consciousness. The cycle of suffering.
It is possible, however, to break it. You just have to start anew. To quote Yoda: "You must unlearn what you have learned". Unfortunately, that's pretty much everything.
And who has the time and/or the energy for that?!

Traveling salesman rings the doorbell, little boy comes to the door smoking a cigar and holding a glass of whiskey. Salesman is stunned, doesn't know what to say. Finally he asks, "Little boy, are your parents home?" Kid answers, "What the fuck do you think?"

I kind of burned out on the topic after the Indonesian smoking baby. Great search term, though -- "smoking baby."
