What's Logic Got To Do With It?

"Dividing the Union is Illogical" by Dave Miles.

Logic is hard work, however, and who likes that? Easier to give in, slide down, fall ever further towards the LCD. Blame the Other instead of thee.

Genius. How great was the basic premise of Star Trek? Take the old west/wagon trope, put it in space, and then create a central tension between a hot-headed but effective captain and a cerebral lead officer. Logic versus instinct, played out in worlds limited only by the higher reaches of imagination.

It was genius. But perhaps as an indication of how America has changed, look what the clowns behind Enterprise did with the same concept: Shit.

We're getting dumber, by large.

Least we forget McCoy who was the other end of the spectrum from Spock. Human emotion. I always saw Kirk as the balance between Pure Logic and Unbridled Humanity. Really in a way the show was a way of seeing a leaders thought process with exposition from two other characters.

Good analysis. Spot on. Maybe throw Scotty in there as the Id.

And that's certainly how Kirk was presented - listening to all sides, then formulating a decision based on that input.

Plus, macking Green Babes.
