Everyday heroes

My thoughts are with all those affected by today's bombing in Boston. No idea who's responsible at this time, but it doesn't matter. I'm proud of the responses of all the people at the scene - for every act of terror there are hundreds if not thousands of heroes.

Awful. I keep thinking of The Onion's September, 2001 article... "God Angrily Clarifies 'Don't Kill' Rule."

I remember that article. However, no Onion article can ever top "Our Long National Nightmare of Peace and Prosperity is Over", dated January 2001.

Like from Nostradamus.

Wow. I just re-read it. They could have written that article in 2013.

It's kind of chilling.

That said, I've felt like a Cassandra for a long time. I vividly remember living in the woods, listening to the radio about this W. guy, and easily unspooling what was to come. Sadly, it was even worse than my darker imaginings.
