Circles within Circles

Great idea. Gumball machines of yore are boring. I need some drama, some excitement when I'm getting some gum - throw in some super bouncing balls! Why the heck not?! I'd add marbles too for sure fire thrills.

Also too - I'd posit the circle (or sphere) is the fundamental shape of existence. Everything is built of circles - quarks to nuclei to atoms to molecules to cells to eggs, to moons and planets and swirling galaxies and great clusters of galaxies, everything spins and the sphere is the shape it ultimately takes. So hail, great Circle! Creator of all!

Lying to Children

We fill our children's heads with lie upon lie. Santa. Easter Bunny. Tooth Fairy. Jesus. I could go on. Eventually the kids figure out, and realize they've been lied to all these years, and some degree of disillusionment sets in. How could it not? And thus begins a life long tale of ever increasing disillusionment - we call it "getting old".  And of course we then repeat the same lies to our children because, it's tradition. The holidays! Everyone does it....

In this fight, by the way, I'd say the Easter Bunny has a large edge, since he should be able to stab Santa several times in the guts before Claus can bring down the axe. However, how can anyone say they like Easter better than Xmas? It doesn't seem possible.

Don't get me wrong, I loathe Xmas too, but.... presents. Easter's just a collection of subpar candy, like an appetizer to the true candy meal of Halloween, with far less cool costumes (Church clothes?!). That said, if this is a depiction of Spring v. Winter, there's really no debate there either.

So, go Jesus Rabbit!

Inappropriate Seasonal Symbols

Too much candy! It's a powerful lesson to learn as a child, since perhaps up to the moment of barfing, there is a belief that there can never be too much candy. Oh, how we learn.
I got 15 inches of snow up at New Gondolin! It was amazing/depressing. I've never seen such a display of colors - the reds and yellows and brown fall leaves with green pines and white, white, white everywhere. It looked like Fruity Pebbles in milk. I'm not a fan of winter, but I have to accept it. Maine, and all.

Still, death to all snowmen!

Jar Jar Binks Tongue Candy

Literally. I mean, yes, look at it - I believe you were supposed to suck Jar Jar's tongue for Forceful flavor. Or something. Maybe it was a flashlight? I have no idea where I got this photo. Feels like China though.
