Lords of Lies

Bill O'Reilly and Ann Coulter living the high life in very liberal NYC. O'Reilly remains about as popular as he ever has, whereas Coulter's career has dipped over the past 4 years. Though she's still out there, spewing poison. As all Right Wingers must - they deal in lies. It's the entirety of Right Wing existence at this point - lies for us, lies for themselves.

Jonathan Krohn, Wingnut boy wonder who in 2009 was lauded as the second coming of Reagan. Now an Obama supporter. Oh hi, James O'Keefe. Almost didn't recognize you behind that awesome disguise. Slayer of Acorn, O'Keefe's "brand" of journalism led him to plead guilty to trespassing in a Democratic Senator's office and is currently on probation. How he avoided jail is beyond me. And last and least, "Bush's Brain", "Turdblossom", "Maker of Realities" Karl Rove. Once feared and feted, it should be clear after his election night performance, he's now an utter joke. Won't stop him from continuing to lie and grift billionaires out of their money.

Oh Tucker. You still haven't recovered from the lashing given to you by John Stewart so many years ago. Tossed from your lofty perch at the "balanced" CNN, you ditched the bow tie and sank lower and lower, looking for anyone to pay attention to you. Sad. Now a recurring guest of the odious Sean Hannity, and still laughed at.

I could throw in a pic of the Big Daddy of this sleazy tribe, Rush, but I'll spare you, my dear readers, the suffering. Suffice it to say even Rush is not doing so well these days. Take all these trends together, and grow heartened. These liars, these radicals, these hatemongers and con artists and demagogues are losing power, losing influence, losing appeal. America appears to be waking up from the 30 years long Republican nightmare, and we can thank Barack Obama for this great blessing. Thanks Bo!

Ronaldus Magnus

How strange that once upon a time, for a long time, everyone smoked. A multi-generational cancer upon humanity, encouraged by society and industry, and yes, future Presidents.

No joke. "Ronaldus Magnus" is a nickname Rush Slimeball came up with years ago and the dumb ass dittoheads promptly spread it across the rightwing hivemind. The Wingnuts have deified Reagan, creepily enough, and this Latinization of his name as some sobriquet of Empire is a reflection into their warped, fascist minds. They want to be ruled, and they want to crush those deemed inferior by the Talking Heads. Check it out at TPM.

And yes, I'm equating Reagan with a clown. This freak circus we're living in today was brought to life by St. Ronnie. What's mildly amusing is the policies and statements of Reagan back in the day were mild and moderate compared to today's EXTREME Wingnuts. If you put his policies in writing without attribution they'd claim: Liberal trash.

The worshipers have exceeded their God in piety and devotion, to madness. But, it's true: Far less smoking.

Why we fight

The first reason for fighting should always, always be because it's right. However, that should be obvious! More subtly, we should fight when it becomes clear that someone has to, yet no one seems able to, or willing. When there is a need that must be addressed.

The particulars will change based on the issue, but here I show you one face of the enemy, regardless of the issue. Because, men like Rush and his ilk will almost always be on the wrong side of any given issue, but that's not even the worst part. The worst part is they are trolls, UberTrolls at the highest level, who really only care about themselves and their wallets. Any cause or issue they say they believe in is irrelevant, since they will change their convictions overnight if it helps the profit margin. No, Rush et al are the enemy because they have an audience under thrall, fairly big audiences, and they will fill these people's heads full of lies and poison, every day of the week. They are agents of destruction bent only on their own personal enrichment, and all the poor saps who believe their lies are nothing but cannon fodder, to be used and abused. Think of any picture you've seen of a Teabagger - did they look rich and/or well educated to you? No, because they are not. In fact, they need health care reform as much anyone.

And yet, because of people like Rush, they'll instead be willing to spit on Civil Rights heroes. They'll condemn America, because Rush told them to. They'll commit treason because there's a Democrat in the White House. And psst... He's "black".

It's the media that's the problem. Rush is a nice big fat symbol of this problem, but it's not just him. Ask yourself this, for example: In an age of ever declining revenues, but where drug advertisements supply more and more of the ad revenue TV stations need, do you really think a company like GE is somehow out to get a company like Pfizer? Or, is it more likely these two behind-the-scenes players will be in cahoots, for each other's benefit? Global corporations with vested interests in the other succeeding.

That's our world. Now, the question is - will you do anything about it?


Some people are, and have. And it might be making a difference. It did this weekend, that's for sure. Ultimately, of course, nothing has any meaning other than the one and only meaning - the transformation of energy. But that's Existentialist ground and the easy answer to that is here we are, living our lives, together. Should we not strive to make these lives better? That's why we fight: Because we ought to.

Still have the evening gabfest of Beck, Hannity, et al, but it will be tough to beat this quote from the leader of the Repuglican party:

"Our president is a worldwide joke. Folks, do you realize something has happened here that we all agree with the Taliban and Iran about and that is he doesn't deserve the award. Now that's hilarious, that I'm on the same side of something that the Taliban, and that we all are on the same side as the Taliban."
