In scanning the many Lost posts here to see if I had used this photo before (for shame! Redshirt has no tracking system in place and thus, I apologize in advance if I re-use a picture. I have once before, that I know of, and it was way back in the dawn of this blog - the classic "It's a Tarp!"

But anyways, in my meanderings through the past, I came upon a list of Redshirt's top 5 tv shows. And I didn't like it. So, here, forthwith, is a new and improved top 5(for now):

1. Lost
2. Angel
3. Buffy The Vampire Slayer

5. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

I challenge any nerd to question my taste. And, obviously, nerds need only apply.

It is indeed a trap

If you recall, Season 1 featured Locke playing a lot of games. He was a gamer. This was "Mouse Trap", and right after we see this game, Locke is conned by his Momma/evil Daddy to give up his kidney. Make of it what you will. Oh yeah: New Lost on tonight! No idea what it is about or anything. Ignorance is bliss.

Relentless Ackbar

As conflicted as I am about the concept of a Rebel college, I feel compelled to support their quest to make Admiral Ackbar as their new mascot. Hard to go wrong with the good Admiral. I  assume Lucas would eventually block this or charge them for use, so, until then, enjoy the dream of an ever more Ackbar filled world. Ah.....

All Ackbar, All the Time

Strangely, I find myself genuinely appreciating Admiral Ackbar, in many different regards. For example, in an evolutionary sense, I suppose there's nothing in particular - is there? - which would prevent any lifeform from developing sophisticated strategies for dealing with their particular environment, and through the millennia, and with successful reproduction, the lifeform continues to advance until one day some magic happens and they are "smart" - language, rudimentary trade, specialization, tools, etc. So on and such till there's some big fish in charge of the Rebel Fleet. Could it happen on on some alien world if all the conditions turned out right? Why not?

Sadly though, Ackbar is proven wrong on more than one occasion in ROTJ, so he's something of a tragi-comi-evolutionary hero for me, you see? Advanced fish might just be objectively inferior to advanced mammals, and struggle mighty though he surely does, even Admiral Ackbar cannot overcome that, can he?

Also, I am a gigantic nerd, if I have not mentioned that recently.
