Every fruit and vegetable needs a marketing campaign. Look what Popeye did for spinach! WW2 saw carrot advertisements at all time highs, due, no doubt, to the lobbying efforts of Big Bunny. It's all about the carrots with Bunnies, don't ya know?
I wonder how many people died from e coli on their produce back during WW2. That is how Elmer will finally get Bugs in the end give him some unwashed carrots.
Elmer should have totally just poisoned the shit out of Bugs - the rabbit deserved it. Maybe hired out the Coyote to take care of him with some ACME brand bombs and whatnot. I'm firmly in the "Fuck Bugs Bunny" club. Bunny was a dick.
Well in sticking to the theme of this blog maybe Elmer should have made Bugs wear a Redshirt and be beamed down on an away team with Kirk, Spock and McCoy. Yea, go on down to the planet Bugs, plenty of carrots to be had and wear this shirt. Nah, you won't need a phaser I don't think it will just agitate the Cloud Monster..er Carrot Angel.
Yea, sounds like Ripley's plan from Aliens and we all know how well that worked out for her, Hicks and Newt. Bugs would lay eggs all over the place just like the Queen.
Yeah, I don't like Bugs - he's a prick. But then, so are all the so called "good guys" of the Warner Brothers cartoon world - Tweety Bird? Prick. Roadrunner? Prick. Foghorn Leghorn? Prick. I always rooted for the "villains" - I mean, Coyotes gotta eat, right? Elmer Fudd is just trying to feed his family. Sylvester's a cat - cats eat birds and mice. What's wrong with that?
Comparatively, Mickey's a standup mouse. Not a prick. I'm OK with the Mickster.
I always liked Bugs, I always thought of him as a smartass. Groucho Marx with ears. Tweety Bird sucked but Sylvester was cool and everyone roots for the Coyote. I would say the Coyote is the protagonist in those stories, not the Roadrunner. That and the fact that the Warner Bros cartoons are so awesomely violent. I mean characters get shot in the face with shotguns, anvils dropped on heads and don't even get my started on Coyote and his never ending supply of bear traps and bird seed. Mickey had a goofy laugh and a theme park. Don't worry though Redshirt, we will always have Star Trek to agree on...probably.
You make many good points, BCS. But, don't blame Steamboat Mickey for the relentless Corporate domination by Disney since his premier as a good natured mouse who enjoys blowing the steamboat horn. And who wouldn't enjoy that?
The only person I can think of off the top of my head that wouldn't like him tooting that steamboat horn would be Charles Bukowski from what I gather in the documentary Born Into This. Personally, I say toot away Mickey.

LOL. Touche, BCS.
Still though, Bugs was a slippery son of a bitch. He used disguises all the time.
I'd rather nuke him from orbit with an ACME brand ICBM. It's the only way to be sure.

All this from a post on Carrots.
LOL. Indeed. That's why Bugs is still around, I suppose. Fucking carrots. Maybe the answer is to kill all the carrots, and starve Bugs.
Ha, I have never seen anyone hate Bugs Bunny so vehemently. I could understand if it was Mickey Mouse but Bugs.

From carrots to Bukowski. The circle is complete.
The problem is clearly carrots.
