You can see what would happen in a Grizzly v. Hulk fight.
Grizzly v. Gorilla is a better match - this weekend on pay-per-view, by the by. I've got 10,000 Reagans on the bear.

Payback at the Country Home for the Aged
Karma's gonna get ya, if you believe karma to be nothing more than the consequences of cause and effect. Endless cause and effect. On the largest of scales, great sweeps of galaxies, this is true - every action has an opposite and equal reaction. On the smallest scales, atoms give off or absorb energy in an endless cycle of redistribution. And it's also true on the human scale, in a person's very heart. Your actions, even your thoughts, will have consequences in one form or another. It is these consequences which will be your karma.
Such as, perhaps, losing a bet? Boobscarves!

Choking the Chicken
So the Pats lost in tragic fashion - choked, you might say. I'll say it - they choked. And so goes a legacy of Greatness, replaced with Pretty Good but Couldn't Win Without Weiss and Crennel.
Also, as far as visual metaphors go, this is a good one:
Just boilin' out, y'all, diggin' life. Cooked.

Kitty Ali
Of course the fight (Ali v. Liston) was fixed - could you hit a kitty in the face? Also, this was the only Heavyweight title fight ever held in the state of Maine. Lewiston, if you can believe it! I hardly can.

Clearly on the Line
Dubai sure looks nice from up here. Like Vegas, except without all the drinking and gambling and "Gentlemen's Clubs".
This was obviously some stunt of one sort or another, since that's a helipad and not usually a tennis court. Looks cool as hell, though I must say I would cede either side of the court and focus on playing the middle. Not too deep either. Some net play, amirite?

Legion
That's a lot of troopers. In fact, I'm beginning to understand that this "hobby" - dressing up like a Stormtrooper - is becoming more and more popular by the year, and given the anonymity of the costume, there's no telling who's into this. It could be a friend, a lover, a co-worker - it could be the person sitting right beside you!!!!
But lest you non-nerds cluck your tongues and mutter "NERDS", I challenge you to tell me the difference between dressing up like a Stormtrooper, and dressing up like this:
The principle is even the same - anonymous intimidation and bonding.
But one activity is done by nerds; the other by ostensible "cool kids"; thus, one accepted, one mocked.
One day the Nerds will rise up and have our robots beat down on these stupid jocks. Till then, we bide our time, nursing a mighty grudge.
UPDATE: Speak of the devil, but here's an article on how popular dressing up as a Stormtrooper has become.

Know what the LT Figurine thinks of this figurine?
No class!
Welcome to the AFC East, LT. You're gonna love playing in Foxboro. Also, my boy Leon Washington is going to steal all your carries.
But go ahead, Fantasy Neophytes: Draft LT early on name recognition alone. I'm counting on it.

It's in the Hole!
Click for big - outlined in the lower left is the Phoenix Lander parachuting into it's final descent to the surface. It did not land in the crater (Eagle), however - it's a trick of perspective. Still, though, this picture represents the first pic of a spaceship landing on another planet.
Unrelatedly, perhaps, I would like to propose that the game of marbles is taken up as a sophisticated adult game. One could make a course in the backyard and keep it nicely maintained, then you could have guests come and play a few rounds, have a few drinks, lose/win a few marbles, and a good time would be had by all. The game could develop a passionate fanbase, I believe, as there is a great deal of creativity in marble selection - one could easily become obsessed about finding rare or particular marbles - and, maintaining a course could be like a Japanese sand garden type hobby. Plus, it is fun for the kids!
I believe my first experiencing with gambling would have been with games of marbles on the recess grounds, 2nd grade. Winning a big pot with an opponent's special "bee marble" was a sweet rush.
Marbles are really cool and I'm surprised to find the game is not as widespread as I would have believed, given my proclivities. Ergo, you should play marbles*. Marbles!

LOL Coloredskins
Ooops, meant Redskins. What a team! Change your name.
And is it me, or are there a plethora of really crappy teams this year, way more than normal? In no order, the crappy teams of NFL 2009:
Washington
St. Louis
Carolina
Tampa Bay
Tennessee
Detroit
Buffalo
Oakland
Kansas City
I'm sure I'm missing some teams too. Is this a pre-reaction to the looming "no cap" year?

Once again, The Promised Land
Through the bright sunny (or rainy) days of Spring and Summer we have toiled and trekked, searching for the Promised Land far off in the distance, sometimes so far off that it's forgotten. But lo! Tonight we cross into the Holy Land: Gambling season returns!
For snap predictions, the Patriots will go 13 - 3 this year, and win the SuperBowl by 30 points. Also, my fantasy team is stocked with Patriots. I am clearly objective.
